She was a little hesitant to go into the office without Mulder and Scully there at first. Once discovering the door was unlocked, however, she decided if they weren't trying to keep her out, it must be fine for her to go in. It was important to get off on the right foot with them. Her time in VCU had been tainted by a partner who despised having a green, female agent paired with him. And there were some personal questions she hoped she might be able to ask Mulder and Scully one day.
As she looked around the room, her eyes fell on the poster on the wall. I Want To Believe. The UFO looked nothing like the lights she had seen almost a decade ago, but she found herself intrigued with it none the less. She crossed the room to get a better look at the pictures and articles tacked on the bullention board beside it. UFOs, Bigfoot, ghosts, spontaneous human combustion, witchcraft.... either this whole division was insane or she was about to start the greatest adventure of her life.
It wasn't long before she had made her way to the filing cabinet. Curiosity got both the cat and the Kit this time. This was going to be her office too now, and it wouldn't hurt to get familiarized with the kind of stuff she'd be seeing in the field. Of course, she was really looking for information about UFOs and alien abductions, but she would put it under the banner of work research.
Of course, the files were arranged by case number, not by phenomena or keyword and it took a good ten minutes before she got to a case about abduction phenomena in a town called Bellefleur, Oregon. She sat down in a chair in front of Mulder's desk and started reading the file, her brow creased with concentration as she read what she soon found out was the first case after Scully had joined the unit.
